2012 SUMMER ART CAMP @ Rockville High School
"Learning and understanding the basics of art is a lesson all young people will take with them into adulthood. The goal of House of Artistry through ART CAMP & Rockville High School is to provide students a strong foundation to build on."
Ron Loyd and Jodi Walsh

A professional team of experienced art instructors will provide a wide variety of mixed media programs to stimulate and inspire young creative minds. The facilities at RHS have spacious classrooms and studio space with state-of-the-art equipment.

Students will discover creative techniques in Drawing, Painting and Watercolor through a wide variety of age appropriate projects. Discovering new ways to arrange compositions with mix media, constructing unusual and challenging art forms is inspiring and challenges young minds. Whether etching on plexiglas, linoleum cuts or monoprint, Printmaking will bring a new appreciation to this fine art medium. Ceramics and fused glass will stimulate our students’ creativity by seeking out new shapes through form and function.

New this year will be our Cartooning Program. This art form will explore the anatomical fundamentals of facial and body elements in a more comical fashion. Worldwide comic styles will be investigated with a focus on individualizing each student with a particular style to create their own comic book characters.

AGE GROUP & CLASS SIZE:
Young Artists: 5-6 years, 8 students
All Media Artists: 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 15 students per age group

ART CAMP Director: Ron Loyd, head of the art department at Rockville High School.
